Around a month ago the final episode of the Ashy Bines Squad Project 8 week YouTube series went live. I have been following Ashy for a couple of years now and absolutely love her. I watch her daily snaps on Snapchat, where she captures and talks about the ups and downs that every girl/woman will go through, and she is so raw and inspiring.
The Squad Project was the journey of 5 women on the Gold Coast that worked with Ashy and her team over the course of 8 weeks, beginning their own fitness and wellness journeys. Each episode shared the highest of highs and the lowest of lows that each of these girls went through each week, all captured into a 40 minute episode each week. Ashy enabled the audience to get involved too. Because she could only work personally with 5 girls, she incorporated her fantastic app that you can download in the app store, so that we could all join in at home on the 8 week program, and continue this after the 8 weeks was over if we wished. Ashy’s app is amazing, it has endless amounts of workout options, and you can choose to target any part of your body. It also has countless healthy and delicious recipes you can easily make at home, meditation and wellbeing webinars, and so much more.
The message that I took away from this short YouTube series is that a fitness journey is not just about getting fit and being able to run a certain distance or lift a certain weight. Although is it great to set goals like these, Ashy encourages wellbeing as a whole. In order to get fit and healthy, you have to first love and believe in yourself. Self-love is the most important thing, you cannot love others if you cannot yet love yourself.
